Our 1965-1966 Mustang AOD / TREMEC Transmission Crossmember Bar with E-brake bracket is used when upgrading your factory C4,C6 automatic or three-speed and four-speed Toploader manual transmissions to the newer AOD Automatic Overdrive and also to the very popular TREMEC T-5 5 speed manual transmissions, both were used from 1980-1998 Mustangs for better gas mileage and reliability. California Pony Cars Inc. is the Originators of these Overdrive Transmission Swap Conversion Kit and have designed these transmission crossmember bar mounts to withstand the increased demands for performance driving of your Classic Mustang. This 1965-1966 Mustang AOD / TREMEC Crossmember Bar mount, does a lot more than simply hold up the back of either of these transmissions. It is essentially, the rear engine mount of a three way or triangulated engine mounting system and locates the transmission on the same centerline as the crankshaft and rear axle differential pinion gear for proper Drivetrain alignment and also doubles as a sub-frame stiffener for better handling, made of heavy duty CNC bent .090 wall tubular steel and TIG welded for maximum performance driving strength. Our transmission crossmember bar mount does not come with elongated mounting holes, we have confirmed OEM hole spec locations for this Transmission Crossmember to be in the original mounting location as the Factory.
